Susan Chrisman - BIO & WORKSHOPS

Susan Chrisman

Speaker: Susan Chrisman

www.lifelonglearnersonline.com

Susan and Jerry Chrisman were pioneer homeschoolers, beginning their journey in home education in 1985. The Chrisman’s have five children and two grandsons. They have served on the board of trustees for the Oklahoma Christian Home Educators’ Consociation since 2001. Jerry is currently serving OCHEC as President, and Susan is their Editor of Publications and the Leaders’ Retreat Coordinator. She also co-directs the Oklahoma City Charlotte Mason Discussion Group, and has published a homeschool resource called The Practical Planner for Home Education which is available on her website at www.lifelonglearnersonline.com. Susan has a bachelor’s degree in music education. After college, she taught briefly in a government school setting, then found opportunities to write curriculum for a Sunday School, teach and write Bible Studies, and compose children’s choir music. Her greatest joy in teaching, though, has been the education of her own children. In 2008, after over twenty years of home educating experience, Susan founded a resource service called Lifelong Learners for the purpose of encouraging parents, especially moms, in the training and education of their children. She speaks to support groups, at mom’s retreats, and at homeschool conventions. Susan’s heart and calling are to guide moms in understanding the true education of the whole person, an application of Mark 12:30: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.”
